This artisans name is Anong, she lives in Northern Thailand and like here relatives before her she had dedicated her life to wood carvings. This is what she enjoys and wants to do and is an expert at carving elephants of all sizes and shapes.
She sits on
a mat at her factory with her collection of chisels and her mallet. She
selects the teak wood piece then goes to work slowly carving the details of
the elephants. We have recently discovered Anong and will be featuring her
work and she story in greater detail in the future.
