S V Rangan

S V Rangan is an international financial services leader, board chair, and former Senior Advisor to the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), with more than 35 years of executive, board and regulatory leadership experience across insurance, pensions, wealth, retail banking, and financial regulation. He has led businesses across the UK, Europe, and international markets, holding senior leadership roles including President of International Life Business at AIG, Chief Executive Officer of MetLife Europe Limited and Group Managing Director for EMEA and India at MetLife, and Managing Director & Regional Head of Citi Insurance EMEA at Citigroup.

He has chaired regulated insurance companies in the UK, and Europe, served as Chairman of MetLife India, later as a Non-Executive Director of PNB MetLife, and as a Supervisory Board Member in Poland. His experience spans corporate governance, strategic transformation, M&A, and international growth.

As Senior Advisor in the CEO’s Office at the FCA, SV advised on strategic regulatory priorities across insurance, pensions, consumer investments, wealth and asset management, and retail banking. He played a key role in major regulatory initiatives, including the FCA–The Pensions Regulator Joint Pensions Strategy, the Consumer Investments Strategy, Consumer Duty, and the Advice Guidance Boundary Review. SV also advised on and contributed to the FCA’s work on AI, innovation, and its transition towards becoming a data-led regulator.

Today, as Founder and Director of IFG Advisory, he advises boards, executive teams, investors and technology firms on corporate governance, regulatory strategy, AI adoption, digital transformation, and sustainable growth, bringing a rare combination of international executive leadership, board governance expertise, and regulatory experience. He also currently serves as Senior Advisor to the CEO of The Pensions Regulator (TPR), the UK’s pensions regulator.
