Vijaya Sampath

Vijaya Sampath is a distinguished lawyer with over 40 years of experience in corporate law,
governance, and compliance. She serves as an Independent Director on the boards of five
listed companies in IT, manufacturing, pharma, and auto components, as well two unlisted
subsidiaries of a listed company.

She is the Ombudsperson for the Bharti Airtel Group, overseeing its code of conduct, and
previously served as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary for over a decade. Her
career spans senior leadership roles as in-house counsel for major Indian conglomerates and
multinational corporations, and as a corporate law partner at leading firms, J Sagar Associates
and Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan.

A Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Vijaya holds graduate
degrees in English Literature and Law. She has attended the Advanced Management Program
at Harvard Business School and the Strategic Alliances Program at Wharton Business School.
She has been an advisor to industry bodies such as FICCI on corporate law and is a regular
speaker and a teacher at various forums on corporate law, governance and ethics.
