Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award at the India’s premier ICT Event, Connect 2016 to Mr. Arun Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, Intellect Design Arena Limited in Chennai. The Lifetime Achievement Award is conferred on chosen Leaders from ICT Industry, who have contributed to the growth and advancement of the domain and made a significant difference during their journey. The award honors Arun Jain’s humble journey from being a learner to a successful entrepreneur and now as an evangelist. The award was presented by Dr. M. Manikandan, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Government of Tamil Nadu in the august presence of dignitaries and leaders from Industry, Government and Academia.

Arun’s passion for financial technology recognized the need for a world class product powerhouse way back in the early 90s. With his inspiring leadership, design thinking and engineering acumen he has been able to put India on the Intellectual Property world map. He has been one of the early propagators of Design Thinking in the information technology space in the country. He believes that good design helps drive a transformation in businesses, from being order takers to agenda setters.

The FinTech 8012 Design Center, the world’s first design center for financial institutions is a clear manifestation of Design Thinking and is innate in the work ethos of every employee in the organisation. Arun anchors ‘UnMukt’ workshops for employees, industry leaders and influencers. A social engineer by nature, Arun has been working towards creating a better community. Ullas Trust, a signature social initiative started two decades ago has grown along with the organisation. Continuing his Social Connect initiatives, Arun has recently launched ‘Project Samriddhi’. Samriddhi is dedicated to holistic human development in India, through the design and development of projects that are sustainable and capable of scale to positively impact the larger population. Through START-UP Nukkad, another unique initiative for Start-up Entrepreneurs, Arun conducts special workshops for them to understand their purpose and nurture and mentor their innovative thinking.

This premier annual Conference and Exhibition on Information and Communication Technology has been focusing on the Tamil Nadu’s growth in ICT Sector.
